About VFW
Sacramento Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 67 has a rich tradition of providing services and support to veterans, their spouses, their families and the local community. We serve as a VA liaison to assist veterans with a wide range of problems from securing military benefits to acquiring well-deserved military awards. We are here to serve all Veterans, regardless of where or when you served in the United States military and we do our part to help improve the life of neighbors in our community.
History
The VFW traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service: Many arrived home wounded or sick There was no medical care or veterans’ pension for them, and they were left to care for themselves. In their misery, some of these veterans banded together and formed organizations with what would become known as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
Mission
Committed to finding new and innovative methods to acquire resources at the Local, State and Federal levels; secure funding within the Private, Corporate, State and Federal agencies. Dedicated to enhancing the VFW Post #67 visibility, recognition and services to all veterans through the collaboration and advocacy with veterans, social, educational, business and governmental organizations.
